Objectives:

  • To facilitate regular & timely ART medication (complete adherence) to children living with HIV and develop prompt health seeking behavior amongst their families
  • To provide nutrition support, psychosocial support and regular growth monitoring to children living with HIV.


Project Brief:
The main activities of the project are:

  • Provision of monthly nutritional packets containing high protein and energy rich foods
  • Provision of transportation allowance and support and facilitation at the ART centers
  • Monthly home visits to provide counseling to parents/ caregivers on ART adherence, prompt health seeking , appropriate treatment follow up in case of opportunistic infections, maintaining basic health & hygiene, dietary counseling and to create awareness about child’s health & care needs
  • Growth monitoring
  • Counseling on possible side effects of ART and service provider to be reached in case of emergency
  • Psychosocial support to child and the family
  • Dietary counseling to the families with special focus on heightened nutritional needs and on maintaining food hygiene
