Trucker’s Utsav : Infotainment Program

• On 29th Nov’2009 on the eve of World AIDS day, CSI’s Kavach project organized its annual feature –the “Trucker’s Utsav”. This Utsav provides a platform to bring thousands of truckers together to spread out the message on prevention of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases in an interesting, entertaining and stimulating way.
• The day long event comprising of multi-specialty health camps, music concert, street plays, song dance medley, health games,quiz and competitive events like Joshilay Janbaaz (Arm Wrestling), Jaanbaaz Khiladi (Bucket Lifting), Sangeet Samrat (Singing Competition)and Chamakte Sitare (Best Maintained Truck) is targeted at taking care of the physical as well as mental health of the truckers. This year’s event sponsored by JCB limited was attended by about 2500 truckers.

Suraksha Utsav

• To mark the first anniversary of existence of the 25 Swasthya Samoohs (self help groups on health issues) formed by CSI in 14 blocks of Savda J J colony, Child Survival India organised “ SURAKSHA UTSAV”, an experience sharing meet for the swathya samooh members –on 18th Nov’2009.
• CSI is implementing “Project Suraksha”, a comprehensive health project for enhancing maternal & child health in urban poor population at Savda Ghevra J J colony. The project works on preventive, promotive and curative health issues. Each swasthya samooh , comprising of about 15 members, meets on fortnightly basis and has discussions on primary health care issues ,with special focus on maternal & child health.
